Results for PFAS (PFOA)

Increased uterine wet weight, histopathological changes in endometrium and myometrium. Increased uterus histopathology severity score for endometrial epithetial mucosa and glandular hyperplasia and myometrial edema, hypertrophy and hyperplasia in mice exposed to 0.01 mg/kg. Increased cervix and vagina histopathology severity score for mucification and overall scores in mice exposed to 1.0 mg/kg.

Subjects: CD-1 mice

Chemical: PFAS (PFOA)

Low doses tested: 0.01, 0.1, 1.0 mg/kg bw/d

Route of administration: dissolved in deionized water and delievered through gavage

Exposure duration: post-natal day 18 – post-natal day 20 (comparable to human prenatal development from approximately day 1 of week 35 to day 1 of week 38)

Age of measurement: post-natal day 21
