Bisphenol A

Bisphenol A (BPA) is an industrial chemical used to make polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resin. It is also a synthetic estrogen. It is found in numerous consumer products such as bottles, eyeglasses, toys, phones, cars and the lining of most food cans.

All BPA studies included in the timeline were performed at doses of 1 part per million or less (1 mg/kg bw).
